KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Seven of Jamaica's prominent female dancehall and reggae artistes are to perform in Queens, New York on May 24.
In a show dubbed Invasion of the Queens, Queen Ifrica, Etana, Spice, Sister Carol, Junie Ranks, ‘Muma’ Nancy, and Lady Ann are expected to deliver stellar performances on the Amazura stage in Jamaica, Queens.
"The event will deliver an entertaining blend of culture, laced with old school dancehall and today’s rocking hits," said concert promoter Donald Wright.
The line-up of cultural crusaders known for their biting social commentaries and women known for their dancehall prowess, offers a good blend.
The event will be hosted by Reggae Top 10 and Video Alley’s Suzie Q.
So listen to a favorite of mine......Candy

Good music has long since past but with all the old school acts that are making news while making a come back might help to kick start good sounds again. Rap though some might not have liked is another dying sound that was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better back when till the Lil Waynes of the world came and just made Rap now seem like a lot of nothing so Nas hit back with Rap Is Dead and it is unless that type of sound can get back what it once had that too has seen that ship sail. We need better radio stations urban radio in not what it once was here in NY we have maybe now 2 soul stations left Hot 97 and WBLS the market for Jamaican music is getting lost I recall listening to Bob Marley on radio as much as lets say Prince but now not so much it's dying but hopefully it will pick up again where the culture won't get lost.
Just my 2 cents : )
