SAINT International's annual Styleweek turned 51 South Camp Road into a centre of glitz, glam and style on Thursday night.
The week-long events are scheduled to close with tomorrow night's Fashionblock in New Kingston.
"The feedback has been great. It's incredible, fresh and celebrating fashion as it should be," Deiwght Peters, CEO of the Saint International model agency, told the Jamaica Observer.
"Tonight, we will have an All-White VIP party back here, and then Sunday night we close with our only public event, Fashionblock where we lock down Knustford Boulevard," Peters said.
Now in its eighth year, Fashionblock has risen to the title of the biggest live fashion event in the Caribbean. It will feature 12 collections, between which the crowd will be entertained by music from artists such as I-Octane and T.O.K.
Thursday's opener featured a display of the Spring/Summer 2015 from three of Jamaica's top designers, done by 28 of Saint's top models. Heather Lane's 25-piece collection got the show off to a good start, their designs a blend of the traditional and modern. MaxBrown followed, switching things up with an all-male, 13-piece collection that went down well with the female members of the audience.
Closing the show was a 20-piece set from TNT Fashions, the label under which Simone Gordon, victor of the 2014 Avant Garde Designer of the Year earlier this year in March, operates. Several of her offerings still resonated with the influence of her winning design.
