The President and First Lady open their doors too the White House for some down home Gospel.
That's JUNE 26 at 8:PM ET on TVONE CABLE....More info at bottom page.
Tuesday evening, the east wing of the White House was transformed into a concert venue as President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama held the annual In Performance at the White House celebration.
This year, the event highlighted gospel, music featuring top artists like: Emmylou Harris, Darlene Love, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Tamela Mann, Rhiannon Giddens, Lyle Lovett, Rance Allen, Rodney Crowell, the Morgan State University Choir and Aretha Franklin,
Robin Roberts served as master of ceremonies, but it was President Obama‘s opening speech that stole the show. POTUS was clearly in high spirits as he took the podium.
“I hope everybody is in the spirit tonight,” Obama said in his greeting. “Bringing some church to the White House!”
