OH MY GOD
THIS IS A NO NO !
The greatest thing in the world just happened since 'KFC' first allowed us to taste its finger-lickin' good fried chicken...the company is adding DONUTS to its menu, in the form of a chicken and donut sandwich!!
We know exactly how you feel, so you may want to take a seat for this one...KFC has announced it's plan to start serving the "Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts" at a few restaurants starting this weekend!
According to USA Today, after a pilot program of serving the two foods together in Pittsburgh and Virgina was successful, the fast-food chain decided to expand the new menu item to cities nationwide.
EAT WITH CARE ❤
So, the sweet and salty goodness is available as a sandwich, which will consist of a chicken fillet between two warm glazed donuts OR as a basket...with the choice of chicken tenders or the bone-in variety with one or two donuts on the side, depending on the meal choice.
Now, if your mouth is watering like ours is...the only thing left is how much will this thing cost us? Well, the company says it will go for $5.49 to $7.99 depending on how many donuts you add to the meal. So...ours will be over 8 bucks, but that's ok!
“Chicken & Donuts is the newest fried chicken trend we’re bringing to all of America,” Andrea Zahumensky, KFC marketing officer said in a statement.
She continued, “But not just any donut would do. Only a donut that’s glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time can stand next to our hand-breaded fried chicken."
Wait...they are going to make them fresh to order like Krispy Kreme?!
Plus, if you are lucky enough to live in the Los Angeles area, KFC is showing off its newest item at a pop-up store this Saturday. If not, you still have time to get in the car and head to LA.
The company made headlines earlier this month when it announced it's new partnership with the shoe company, Crocs, where they are making KFC themed Croc style shoes. The new kicks come covered in a fried chicken print that has a removable, chicken-scented Jibbitz charm, that actually smells like the product.
