Michael Jackson's Daughter Says Paparazzi Caused Her Long-Term Trauma And PTSD
Paris Jackson is opening up about living a life with her father under the media's scrutiny and says she is now suffering from long-term trauma and PTSD due to the constant coverage from the paparazzi.
Michael Jackson's daughter sat down with 'Red Table Talk' where she discussed the countless clicks she endured as a child with her friend and fellow celebrity offspring, Willow Smith.
At this point, Paris says she has "auditory hallucinations" of cameras clicking and suffers from "severe paranoia" claiming the situation is most likely caused by PTSD.
“I experience auditory hallucinations sometimes with camera clicks and severe paranoia and have been going to therapy for a lot of things but that included,” Jackson said.
She continued, “I’ll hear a trash bag rustling and flinch in panic. I think it’s standard PTSD.”
Jackson met Willow Smith on the set of mom Jada Pinkett's TV show "Hawthorne" and the two share a bond over growing up with parents who are in the spotlight. At the time, the duo says they bonded over their love of music, and issues like sexuality and mental health.
Paris Jackson: I Think It's Standard PTSD
During the conversation, the two discussed Jackson's sexuality and past of dating women and men. The King Of Pop's daughter says there has been "tension" in their family over her sexuality -- but has leaned on her brothers for support.
“They’ve always been super-supportive,” she said.
Paris pointed out that her brother, Prince Jackson, joined a student-run club that unites LGBTQ+ and allied youth. “Not a lot of people can say they have siblings that support them like that," she continued.
