The famously photogenic only son of Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio was named one of the most influential teens in the country by Time Magazine on Tuesday.
The younger de Blasio, 16, was singled out by the magazine as the “city’s latest fashion icon,” which noted that his “now-iconic afro” was even lauded by President Obama.
The teenager's appearance in a TV commercial for his father has been widely identified as a pivotal moment for the de Blasio campaign.
The Time notice puts the incoming mayor's son in notable company.
Malia Obama, 15, also made the list, along with Malala Yousafzai, the Afghan education activist shot by the Taliban, and pop star Lorde, 17.
Lorde’s real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor. Her hit song “Royals” was played on Election Night when de Blasio walked onstage to address supporters
