Andraé Crouch, 'father of modern gospel music', dies

Andraé Crouch died Thursday at the age of 72. The singer, songwriter and choir director had been hospitalized since Saturday after suffering a heart attack. He was known for bridging the worlds of church and mainstream music for more than 50 years.
