WPIX11 reported that the man may have been holding the child when he jumped. According to CBS, the 52-story building was located in Manhattan's Upper West Side neighborhood.
According to the AP, the man was prounounced dead on the scene and the child died after being rushed to the hospital.
Police sources told the New York Daily News that the child may have been the man's son.
The New York Times reported that the man is believed to be 35 and the boy is believed to be 3 or 4 years old.
