WWE star Shad Gaspard's family and friends gathered in Los Angeles to remember the wrestler and pay their respects, and the number of people who showed up was huge.
The memorial was held on Venice Beach in Los Angeles and included a crowd of over 500 people. The event featured a huge flower sculpture with his name, and dozens of while candle burning in his honor.
“Over 500 people showed up tonight to celebrate Shad’s life,” fellow pro-wrestler Bryan Alvarez tweeted from Friday's memorial.
The wrestler shared a photograph of Gaspard's friends posing in front of the flowers emblazoned with his name.

Another pro-wrestler, Taya Valkyrie, also posted photos from the tribute, saying, “This week has been extremely hard. Tonight we came together to remember you @shadbeast. You were there with us, smiling down on everyone that loves you. You impacted so many and tonight was proof of your power in life and beyond.”
Another friend added, “No filter from tonight’s memorial. Beautiful evening to celebrate our friend."
At the time, his wife and son spent hours on the beach hoping to get any sign that Gaspard may have survived the incident.
She dedicated a post to her husband on Instagram calling him a 'real-life superhero.'
“He was our heart, our soul, our protector, our warrior. He was a bright force of nature, who brought joy to many through his joyous and gracious nature. The outpouring of love from Shad’s friends, colleagues, and fans has meant more to us than you can even imagine. We’d like to once again thank the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for efforts.”
