Grammys 2021 'Taken too soon':Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato honor Selena on 25th anniversary of her death The Queen of Tejano music joins fellow lifetime achievement award honorees Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Lionel Hampton, Marilyn Horne, Salt-N-Pepa and Talking Heads. Ed Cherney, Benny Golson and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds were honored with the Trustees Award, and Daniel Weiss is the Technical Grammy Award recipient. Selena won a Grammy for best Mexican-American album in 1994 for her album "Live!," making her the first female Tejano artist to do so. Originally scheduled for Jan. 31, the music ceremony was rescheduled due to rising cases of COVID-19. As other ceremonies have been this past year, the Grammy Awards were held in a mostly virtual setup Sunday on CBS, with different performances streaming live across the nation.
