Bruce Arians Has 2-Word Reaction To Tom Brady’s Decision
Tom Brady #12 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers talks with head coach Bruce Arians prior to the NFC Wild Card Playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium on January 16, 2022 in Tampa, Florida.
In case you didn’t hear, the GOAT is coming back. On Sunday, Tom Brady let it be known that the retired life just isn’t for him. And he’ll be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd NFL season.
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady tweeted. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business,” he concluded. “LFG.”
When Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians got wind of the news, BA summed his feelings up with two words: “Total excitement.”
This changes everything for the Bucs, the NFC South and the NFL as a whole. Given Brady’s unimaginable drive, few thought that this would actually be it for Tom Brady’s career when he announced he would be walking away from football.
Especially given how close he was to playing to that magical 45 number he had put out there.
Brady hinted at a possible comeback in conversations with Jim Gray; but it wasn’t known if, or when, the decision to return would be made. Now his presence behind center immediately puts Tampa Bay back in the Super Bowl conversation.
