Sweetest Day is an observance celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region, and parts of the Northeast United States, on the third Saturday in October (October 18 in 2014). It is described by Retail Confectioners International as an "occasion which offers all of us an opportunity to remember not only the sick, aged and orphaned, but also friends, relatives and associates whose helpfulness and kindness we have enjoyed."
Setting aside a day in early autumn to family and loved ones, romantic gift exchanges are the most typical way to celebrate Sweetest Day. Families and individuals may also "sweeten the pot" with their own special traditions with gifts of flowers, fruit bouquets, poems & e-cards:
Sweetest Day commonly involves women giving their husband or boyfriends candy. While it is not as large or widely observed as Valentine's Day, it is still celebrated in parts of the United States.

I hoped that everyone else had a lovely day as well Lady C, whether you enjoyed some alone time, spent time with family/friends or that special someone The hubby and I had a great time, had a early dinner and went and did one of his favorite things which is going to the track and riding dirt bikes and 4 wheelers :)When we left we looked like we took all the dirt and mud home with us..hahahaha but the sweetest thing ever is when he said that the only thing he really wanted was to pack me up and take me back home for good because he missed me way to much(aww) I love he..(giggle) Shilo
