Here's why I think we're losing the voices of R&B mostly their dying off like the world war two vets if not age then tragedy it's sad but true. What we have today is a R&B sickness going the music isn't hitting you where it once did back when, when you heard a song and just wanted to get married or love till the morning came you heard the words of love and the mans need for making you feel there was only you and him in the room. No let me get into your panties and lay you down while I lick something the words wasn't as raw as today. And another thing who can do what Luther did and how Marvin did and Teddy lord have mercy is the heat on yet oh yes these guys were saying what a woman wanted to hear but today the music industry is only selling sex they don't seem to care about the voice the male singer today can give you a little something something like our Maxwell but can he keep the heat on I think he can if he only knew it that coming at you attitude like Teddy did when he said Turn Then Off his voice roared at you he got down. Maxwell just needs a little tug but he's ok the way he is. John Legend I don't see as R&B he's not sending the message as clear as the old school artist did like Eddie Kendricks he made you move to another groove with his high singing voice like El De Barge has today not to take away from John but the hot is not there for me. D'Angelo is back but he put the dirt in dirty and he put the stank in his music now some do like that it's his vibe and his fans love it but is that enough to keep him ready and steady he was gone along time only time will tell. You had Dennis Edwards of The Temptations he could sing like a man singing in Church the women closed their eyes and only could imagine why can't the music companies see that why can't they get that back you can't keep selling talent that isn't there something is wrong in the music world and we can hear that. No jaw dropping talent just singing with auto tune the kiss of death to the real artist. They're dying a slow death on radio and the only thing keeping them alive long after some have move on is the Youtube you can just see how Luther is missed look at the comments how Marvin and Sam Cooke are missed even the younger generation will ask their parents wow mom or dad who's that they sure don't make singers like that in my generation. That real earthy singing is lost and being put on the back burner that's how Tank felt he wasn't getting the love yet why what is happening here where can an artist of R&B live if not on radio where ? You have to hear it to see it and you have to see it to hear it they need somewhere to be found or like Rock and yes Rap it's going to flow like a lake without the water. Look we all like change but change for the better not the worst the hard hitting male singer is becoming a dying breed in todays world just wear your pants down and shake what your mama gave you who cares if you can't hold a note.
We've lost so many along the way and the more we lose them the worst the music industry gets I don't know about you but I still call my sister up and ask her who's the R&B so and so and she would tell me then I'll go to Youtube and give a listen wow how sweet the sound. I won't take away the new breed of singers like Usher or D'Angelo or even John Legend and many more out here today it's just that somehow the sound is getting lost and you keep wondering will it ever be the same......Jaheim sounds so close to the late Teddy Pendergrass a plus for him but his career never really took to the heights and yet still you have.....Mario, Trey Songz, Avant, Anthony Hamilton, Brian McKnight, Babyface, Joe, Glen Lewis and Ginuwine to name a few some might not be called R&B but they have soul and some hear are not the best singers either but they are here for now but will they survivor some yes some no.
Point of view from my world the view is always breathtaking
