Remember the neo-soul duo Floetry? They’re the British-bred duo who garnered songwriting success in the late 90′s and early 2000′s after moving to the United States, before going on to have a successful run as artists.
Signed to DreamWorks Records, the group came stardom with their debut singles ‘Floetic,’ ‘Say Yes’ and ‘Getting Late’ off their gold-certified debut CD, “Floetic” in 2002.
Their instant popularity caused DreamWorks to release a live album in 2003, followed by their sophomore studio album “Flo’Ology” on DreamWorks’ sister label Geffen in 2005.

Sometime around 2006, the group broke up when member Marsha Ambrosius signed a solo deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records. That CD never materialized and she only released a mixtape called “Neo Soul is Dead.” Ambrosius later signed with Clive Davis’ J Records in 2009 and released her solo debut “Late Nights & Early Mornings” (2011). That disc was followed up by “Friends & Lovers” (2014).
Group member Natalie “The Floacist” Stewart went on to ink a deal with boutique label Shanachie Records, and released two albums “Floetic Soul” (2010) and “The Floacist presents Floetry Re:Birth” (2012).
Early this week, Ambrosius was performing in London at The Clapham Grand as part of her “Friends & Lovers” tour and Stewart surprised the crowd and joined her onstage.
Fans were excited to see the duo make amends and perform together for the first time in years. The two posted a photo on Instagram celebrating the moment afterwards.
Could there be a Floetry reunion album in the works?
