Kerry Washington will have the role of playing Miss Anita Hill famous from the trial in the early 90's when she felt DISRESPECTED by the now Surpreme Court Justice Clearence Thomas.
The Scandal star will continue her venture into Washington, D.C. politics by playing Anita Hill, who testified at the famed 1991 Supreme Court Justice confirmation hearing of Associate Justice Clarence Thomas.
After President George H.W. Bush nominated Thomas, Hill claimed Thomas sexually harassed her while he worked as her superior at the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Despite the controversy, Thomas was still confirmed, though just barely with a Senate vote of 52-48.
The HBO film, entitled Confirmation, will be penned by Susannah Grant of Erin Brockovich, who will also serve as an executive producer. Washington is also set to executive produce the film.
The Hollywood Reporter stated that sources close to the publication say Rick Famuyiwa, director of Dope and The Wood may direct the film, but the rumor has yet to be confirmed.
