In the show 45-year-old Jennifer plays the character of Harlee Santos, a police detective who is a single mum that gets entangled with a 'tight knit group of dirty cops.'
The NBC show also features Ray Liotta as lieutenant Bill Wozniak and Drea de Matteo as detective Tess Nazario.
The snaps show the usually very sophisticated Jennifer in a more down to earth outfit, donning an ill-fitting blue suit and a black blouse with her hair in loose curls.
"Jennifer's character Harlee says it best," former Sopranos actress Drea said in a promo.
"We don't want to start out wanting to deceive people or wanting to walk down the wrong road but sometimes life happens, sometimes it's about survival."
Goodfellas star Ray added: '"There's a lot of gray areas. Morality is different for everybody."
On Thursday she wrote on Instagram: "Day one of #ShadesOfBlueNBC wrapped!!! #ComingSoon #Early2016 #StayTuned."
A date for the premiere has not been announced.
