Jimmy Fallon has injured his hand so Friday's taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York is cancelled.
He "fell and hurt his hand," NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Friday.
Fallon later tweeted he tripped and fell, catching his ring on the side of a table.
He joked he was "drugged" and "blessed" and thanked fans for their good wishes.
Fallon was "required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning," his publicist Claire Mercuri said in an email. "He is expected to make a full recovery."
Meanwhile, NBC was tweeting warnings to ticket holders and planning to air a repeat show.
The show Friday night was to include Benicio del Toro, Taylor Kitsch, and Penn and Teller as guests.
