The death of Sandra Bland in police custody has us all in shock, especially now that there's dashcam footage of her encounter with Texas State Trooper Brian Encinia. Bland's case gained national attention when her body was found hanging in a Waller County, Texas jail three days after being arrested and booked following a routine traffic stop. Authorities maintain that she committed suicide. Bland's family is currently calling for an independent autopsy to find out what really happened to her. With a growing list of Black women who have died after encounters with the police—including, but certainly not limited to, Sandra Bland, Rekia Boyd, Yvette Smith and Miriam Carey—are you more conscious of your actions when dealing with police officers?
SO THE QUESTION IS ARE BLACK WOMEN OR WOMEN OF COLOR AFRAID OF ENCOUNTERS WITH THE POLICE ?
Lately yes I fear their upholding the law has gotten out of hand using the power in blue to pull all the muscle they have to just become a bully of the so call law. Right is right but wrong is wrong over powering a woman is dead wrong killing her is even worst I know a policeman could take down most women but using hard handed force is just crazy and you wonder why I have a fear of the ones who should be protecting me and all of us really.....C
