Do you guys really wanna read about the Grammy’s? Because lawd knows there is very little I want to write about them. This show has always been way too long and predictable to ever be good. Add to that the lack of talent and old acts that are trotted out every year and you have the making of what we had tonight- a complete snoozefest. By far the most interesting thing to happen was Rihanna canceling her performance at the last minute. Sure Kendrick Lamar’s performance was riveting, but not even that was enough to save the Grammy’s from it self.
As expected, Taylor Swift took home many of the evening’s big awards, including Album of the Year, which many hoped Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly would walk away with. Kendrick wasn’t sweating the snub however, as he walked away with five statuettes, including Rap Album of the Year and Best Video for Bad Blood which he and Swift collaborated on.
Other notable winners include D’Angelo’s Black Messiah winning Best R&B Album, The Weeknd winning Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album, and Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson taking home Record of the Year honors for Uptown Funk.
