The syndicated "Steve Harvey" show will stop production in May. More than 100 employees will lose their jobs working on the program, which is co-produced by NBCUniversal and Endemol Shine North America. The new L.A.-based show, which will feature more celebrity guests, will be co-produced by Harvey and New York-based media company IMG. Harvey will have an ownership stake in the show, which will be distributed by NBCUniversal and carried on NBC-owned stations. Harvey also hosts "Little Big Shots," a talent show for young performers, and "Family Feud." Both film in Los Angeles. The "Steve Harvey" show debuted in Chicago in September 2012, one year after Oprah Winfrey ended her long-running Chicago talk show and moved to Los Angeles to start the OWN cable network. The Oprah Winfrey Show ran from 1986 to 2011, filming more than 4,500 episodes at Harpo Studios. After serving as the filming location of the short-lived "The Rosie Show" starring Rosie O'Donnell, Harpo Studios, closed in 2015. The new Steve Harvey show is expected to air on NBC affiliate WMAQ-Ch.5 in Chicago.
