God knows the show lost it's funny yearrrrrrrrrrrrrr's ago but I wish the best for her we all could use some laughter that's for sure.
After hearing all the buzz about the lack of African-American women on the cast of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, producers of the variety show took it upon themselves to conduct a private casting call for the newest addition.
According to Deadline.com, the newest lady to join the television sketch-comedy’s roster is comedienne Sasheer Zamata:
Four years after she graduated from the University of Virginia, Sasheer Zamata is landing a very big break — the young comedy performer has been selected to join Saturday Night Live as a new cast member. Zamata will make her debut on the venerable NBC late-night sketch comedy series on its next live show slated for January 18 with Drake as host and musical guest.
Zamata nurtured her comedy/acting skills at New York City’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and is now the first black female to join the Saturday Night Live crew since Maya Rudolph’s departure in 2007.
